El contexto de Nutresa
Nutresa would have negative impacts from this new tax reform, but it would also benefit from exports to Venezuela.
The ultra-processed and industrialized food made by this company would be taxed for the final consumer, however, the proposal is still on the table.
Despite the notable increase in EBITDA, Casa de Bolsa points out as a negative point that the costs of raw materials continue to exert pressure on the profitability of the businesses and the gross margin of Nutresa – reaching a new historical minimum.
However, it is positively highlighted that the strategies for hedging raw materials, in addition to operating efficiencies, have offset a large part of the effect of the inflationary environment on profitability.

Although a relative stabilization of raw material prices was observed in July, we believe that the continuity of hedging and efficiencies will be key to mitigating the negative impact on profitability, which would continue to be under pressure in the remainder of the year.
The company has a stock market capitalization of $18.26 billion pesos.
For the fourth consecutive year, Grupo Nutresa ranked as the second best company to attract and retain talent in Colombia according to the reputation monitor MERCO Talento 2022.
