Deputy Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Committee, Nurul Ghufron, has challenged the KPK Council Regulations at the Supreme Court (MA).

“The norms used in the examination of the ethics trial are Perdewas Numbers 3 and 4 of 2021, both the material and the program I am currently submitting for a material review to the Supreme Court,” said Ghufron based on his statement in Jakarta quoted on Saturday (4/5).

Ghufron’s lawsuit was submitted to the Supreme Court on Thursday, April 25 2024. The matter was registered under number 26 P/HUM/2024. Ghufron’s lawsuit is included in the type of state administration case. The status of the case is currently in the distribution process.

Ghufron challenged this regulation because his ethics report had been processed even though it had been going on for a year when he complained. He believes that the lawsuit has expired if it refers to the rules of the KPK Council.

“In my perspective, the report in question is out of date and I am currently reviewing the regulations on which it is based at the Supreme Court,” said Ghufron.

Nurul Ghufron was absent from his first ethics trial. He argued that he was suing the case at the Jakarta State Administrative Court (PTUN).

“The trial was opened, then it was closed because NG (Nurul Ghufron) was not present on the grounds that he was suing the Dewas through the PTUN,” said KPK Dewas member Syamsuddin Haris.

The trial was postponed. However, the trial will be held one-sidedly if Ghufron chooses to be absent once more.

“The trial has been postponed to May 14 2024. If the second summons does not appear, the ethics trial will continue,” said Syamsuddin. (Z-8)
