Artist Silent Hill 2 Masahiro Ito made a number of changes to the upcoming remake that he’s been mulling over for years since the original horror release.
It will be possible to talk about all the innovations only after the release, but the players paid attention to one of them during the announcement, and it is connected with nurses.
The first screenshots and recent concept art show a bubble-headed nurse wearing black stockings, but as fans may remember, in the original 2001 game, the nurses did without this kind of outfit. In the case of the updated version, Ito noted that he “made the nurses wear stockings of this color” because he was instructed that in the original SH2 “they exposed their skin too much”. Also, according to him, this decision is due to the design of the game and the desire to emphasize that it is a remake before the players.
“As for the picture of the nurse that Bloober posted, it’s one of the concept art. I made her wear stockings in that color because I was told that the original nurse was wearing [оригинальном] SH2 exposed her skin too much and I wanted to [подчеркнуть]that this is a remake. It also has to do with the design of the game,” Ito stated.
Silent Hill 2 Remake is being developed by Polish studio Bloober Team (The Medium) as a console exclusive PlayStation 5. The term of the agreement with Sony is one year from the date of release, but the release date has not yet been disclosed. At launch, the game will also be available on PC V Steam.
