Nurse perished after accidentally ingesting chlorine

Rosaura del Carmen Pérez Ibarra, 43 years old, died of serious complications following mistakenly ingesting chlorine. The victim was a nurse, the Guárico state police pointed out through a press release.

Apparently, while on duty, she asked her companions where she might get a glass of water. She received the answer that there was a dining room, located on one of the floors, so she arrived at the site.

“Surely she took a glass that did not have drinking water, but chlorine and ingested it,” declared another nurse, who also said that following a while “it was that she began to feel bad, presenting strong stomach ailments.”

It was like that then, as the group that accompanied him decided to attend to her immediately. She conscious, she stated what she had taken and other nurses confirmed that the glass had the caustic chemical.

The ingestion of sodium hypochlorite caused intoxication in Rosaura del Carmen; unfortunately his clinical picture was complicated so he died.

In this case, the Body of Research Científicas Penales y Criminalísticas opened an investigation of the case, with the firm intention of confirming the version of an accidental event.
