In an unfortunate incident, a nurse and a healthcare worker sedated stroke patients at an NHS hospital so they could have an “easy transfer”.
Katherine Hudson, 54, was convicted of giving sedative medications without a prescription to two patients over a period of 21 months, according to what was reported by “The Sun” website.
She was also convicted of conspiring with her colleague Charlotte Wilmot (48 years old) to give a sedative to a third patient.
Cops said they committed the acts as far back as 2017 in Blackpool Victoria, Lancs, for “private amusement” and “out of spite towards patients”.
In a text message exchange, Hudson bragged about having anesthetized a critically ill patient, adding, “I bet she’ll be flat for a week.”
The nurse used various medications, including the insomnia medication Zopiclone, which can be life-threatening to the patient if given inappropriately.
Wilmot, an experienced assistant, was released on bail and was told it was an “overwhelming possibility” she would also be put in prison.
The two criminals, both from Blackpool, England, were investigated after a student nurse who was at the workplace reported them to the authorities. (LBCI)
