With five gold medals, four silver medals and an equal number of bronze medals, the Graça neighborhood Gymnastics Center (Piaget) won, this past Saturday, the 15th edition of the Benguela Provincial Championship.
At the Arena Acácias Rubras pavilion, in the city of Benguela, the event saw the participation of 147 athletes, from five teams, who competed in the disciplines of Rhythmic Gymnastics, Tumbling, Aerobics and Artistic.
It is the first time that the team from the Graça neighborhood, on the outskirts of the city of Benguela, has won this competition.
In the immediate places were the Benguela Gymnastics Center (2nd), Clube Transcambanda de Benguela (3rd), ATGIM Academy of Benguela (4th) and the Pim Pam Pum do Lobito School Center (5th).
The coach of the winning team, Vladimir Trumba, said that his team won the competition as a result of a lot of effort, work and dedication.
He explained that he had to learn from past mistakes, correct mistakes and work hard with the athletes to reach the title.
For the coach, with the title, the collective’s responsibility increases, because, as champion, he has to represent the province of Benguela well in the national championship.
Vladimir Trumba considers that the championship was at a good level, because the other teams also came to win it.
The president of the Benguela Provincial Gymnastics Association, Amândio Tchipalanga, said that the championship was played at a satisfactory level.
The official highlighted the victory, for the first time, of Núcleo da Graça (Piaget), which demonstrates that there is no monopoly in terms of titles and that the teams fought on equal terms, having won the best.
