Nuclear Materials Authority: Egypt possesses 5 billion tons of black sand

Dr. Hamed Mira, head of the Nuclear Materials Authority, said that the black sand is rich in rare earth elements, and these elements represent the backbone of advanced technological and electronic industries, in addition to the fields of artificial intelligence, revealing that the returns of value-added projects amount to 6 billion dollars in the Burullus project only.

The head of the Nuclear Materials Authority stressed that all the work was in the hands of purely Egyptian and national companies, noting that the local component amounted to more than 60% of the total project, commenting: “We have huge reserves of up to 5 billion tons of black sand on the coasts of the Red and Mediterranean Seas.” .
