The Ñublense squad achieved its first victory in the National Championship, following winning by the minimum score and playing with the Universidad Católica, in the duel played at the Santa Laura stadium.
Mario Salas’ team did not have a great first half, where it was surpassed by Nicolás Núñez’s squad, even the Crusaders had a goal disallowed by Gonzalo Tapia due to an advanced position, while the “Rojo” might not connect its game in the first 45′, where he also added Emanuel Herrera and Medina to the starting eleven once more on the right with Cerezo as center back to the detriment of Rafael Caroca and Ismael Sosa who did not go to the bench.
Already in the second half, the Chilanejo team came out with a different air to try to play a good game, and following a VAR review the penalty was awarded in favor of Ñublense, following a handball in the area by Agustín Farías.
Everything was changed by a goal for striker Patricio Rubio, who missed his shot following being saved by Guillier, but on the rebound he was able to convert once more.
“It was a hard-fought victory, this team is showing that it is based on the effort and will put in by the players, followed by the talent of each player. The game in general was tight, we started well, but then we fell into a rut, they put us behind, it made it quite difficult for us on the outside and then we managed to adjust it with the positioning that our outsiders had, but then we were able to put the game in our direction, we generated goal situations and some corner kicks, which allowed us to be in the rival field,” added Mario Salas.
“Then with the goal we were able to control, we had to improvise once more, that’s why I take my hat off to them, Bernardo had trained in his natural position, but we have to get our act together in some things, but we are happy for the three points, but we must keep working,” he added.
Now in the next Ñublense they will face Audax this Friday at 8:30 p.m. at the Nelson Oyarzún stadium, where they hope to celebrate with their people and remain undefeated in the tournament.
