Ñuble Supermarket Sales Index recorded an increase of 0.7% – La Discusión 2024-07-18 14:22:35

Sales at constant prices in supermarkets nationwide increased by 2.5% in twelve months. Fifteen of the 16 regions had a positive result in the period of analysis, and in six of them the result was greater than the variation in the national ISUP. For its part, Ñuble was ranked 13th in descending order.

There were 31 establishments registered at the regional level, one more than in the same month of the previous year, totalling an area of ​​59,756 square metres (m2).

In May 2024, the regional ISUP at constant prices registered a variation of 0.7% compared to the same month of the previous year.

In the period of analysis, a positive calendar effect was observed for the sector in relation to May 2023, due to the fact that two fewer Tuesdays and one Wednesday were recorded, as well as one additional Friday and holiday, versus one additional Thursday.

Compared to April 2024, the ISUP at constant prices increased by 4.0%. Meanwhile, the accumulated variation during 2024 totaled -1.9%.

The ISUP at current prices expanded by 4.4% compared to the same month of the previous year, while when compared to April 2024 it increased by 4.5%.

Sales at current prices in the region totaled MM$25,052.63 in the period under analysis.

At the national level, the ISUP at constant prices showed growth of 2.5% in twelve months.

For the sales recorded in this period, 31 establishments located in the region were recorded, establishing a total area of ​​59,756 square meters (m2), registering a variation of 1.4% in twelve months.

Ñuble versus Chile

In May 2024, the ISUP at constant prices for the region recorded growth of 0.7% over twelve months, 1.8 percentage points (pp.) below the variation at the national level, which increased by 2.5%.

Compared to April 2024, the regional index grew by 4.0%, while the national index increased by 2.5%.

During the period of analysis, supermarket sales at constant prices registered year-on-year growth in 15 regions, and in six of them they showed a variation greater than or equal to that registered at the national level (2.5%).

The regions that experienced the greatest growth were: Magallanes (8.2%), Aysén (7.9%) and Los Lagos (5.5%).

Meanwhile, Tarapacá recorded a negative variation (1.2%).

The regions that most influenced the growth of the national ISUP at constant prices were: Metropolitan (0.751 pp.), Valparaíso (0.599 pp.) and Los Lagos (0.270 pp.).

During the analysis period, the accumulated regional variation recorded -1.9%, reaching 1.4.
