About 15 Ñuble companies participated in the Enexpro Commercial Aggregates, held in Concepción and organized by ProChile, in which more than 160 bilateral meetings were held between 70 companies (from Maule to Los Lagos and 14 ProChile commercial attachés in the world, from countries such as China, the United States, Taiwan, South Korea, Germany, the United Kingdom, Peru, Argentina, Mexico and Colombia, among others.
“It was a very interesting activity, with many meetings, in which the Ñuble companies had a good reception; There were wine producers, seed producers, some fruit producers and technological SMEs as well,” highlighted Cristóbal Herrera, director of ProChile Ñuble, who emphasized the need to diversify the region’s exportable offer, as well as the destinations.
The activity was attended by the International Director of ProChile, Natalia Arcos; local authorities and the regional directors of ProChile of the macrozone.
Arcos stated that the challenge this year will be in the diversification of Chilean exports, so that they can increase the number of products and services that are sent abroad, as well as the number of markets where there are clients for these companies.
“The emphasis is on diversifying our export matrix, for this we have brought 14 commercial and agricultural attachés to Concepción, with the purpose of meeting with national companies and being able to publicize the trends and opportunities that these markets offer,” he added.
He recalled that 50 years ago, when ProChile was created, the country exported US$2 billion, while last year this figure will exceed US$90 billion. Furthermore, he highlighted that 46% of these shipments are goods and services other than copper and lithium, in a wide variety of sectors such as food, manufacturing and services.
Commercial aggregates
The 14 commercial and agricultural attachés were able to provide information regarding their markets and guidance to the companies that attended.
Marcela Zúñiga, attaché in India, explained that “we met with exporters and gave them useful information to reach this market. It is an important mission, because India is a fascinating market, but distant and with many complexities. What we do is encourage companies that have opportunities to take advantage of them because, although they have difficulties, the projections are very great.”
Marcela Aravena, attaché in Colombia, valued the opportunity that allows her to personally meet exporters from the regions, which is relevant to resolve doubts and provide guidance on the market situation. “Colombia is very interested in Chilean food and wine, making it an ideal option for SMEs that are just starting to export.”
The participating companies expressed their interest in accessing new markets. Josefina Mass, who sells flower seeds from Ñuble, highlighted the guidance they can give them, “it is valuable information to know if and where we will find clients, for what products and what conditions. It allows us to know which countries we can expand to.”
