The new financing company Nu Colombia, a subsidiary of Nu Holdings in the country, officially launched its savings account, following receiving approval from the Financial Superintendency.
The account will have the highest profitability on the market, which will be 13% effective annually. In addition, it will be 100% digital, without hidden charges or commissions, with the option to have free and unlimited transfers to other financial institutions and with 24/7 access to customer service.
This new new product from the neobank comes with what it calls ‘Boxes’, a pocket-type functionality that It allows people to organize their money to achieve their financial goals.
“The Nu Account will allow us to help all Colombians boost their savings so they can achieve their financial goals, hand in hand with an innovative product designed to solve their pains and desires,” said Marcela Torres, general manager of Nu Colombia Compañía de Financing.
At the end of the third quarter of last year, Nu’s savings accountIt had 65 million active customers, and the ‘Cajitas’ functionality registered 8.6 million users in Brazil. In Mexico, likewise, the Nu Account managed to reach 2.4 million people during this same period.
To accompany this new savings account, Nu Colombiawill also launch a debit card, which will strengthen the company’s product portfolio. This card will have no handling fee and will be available physically and virtually, in addition to having real-time notifications every time a transaction is made.
At the moment, Nu offers its credit card in Colombia, which already has more than 800,000 clients, as announced by the entity.
The debit card will also have a small indentation on one of its sides so that it can be easily identified and differentiated by touch, by people with limitations or visual disabilities. AND It will differ from the credit card with a different shade of purple as well as blue edges.
Launch phases
Nu Colombia will deliver the product gradually. The initial phase will be a period that will be open to Nubankers – Nu employees -, their friends, family and some clients to test the features and identify possible opportunities for improvement before offering it to more people. The launch of the debit card will also be carried out progressively during this period.
After the groups mentioned above, Cuenta Nu will be available to people who register on the launch list and will then be able to reach the entire Colombian market.
