On the 5th, the presidential office held a standing committee of the National Security Council (NSC) presided over by Kim Seong-han, head of the National Security Office, in response to the North Korean missile provocation.

In a press announcement on the same day, the presidential office said, “After that, if it is deemed necessary, we plan to hold a plenary meeting of the NSC presided over by President Yoon Seok-yeol.”

The National Security Office reported the matter to President Yoon immediately following North Korea fired several ballistic missiles into the East Sea this morning, and it is said that he was ordered to convene the NSC Standing Committee.

It was reported that President Yoon, who was planning to participate in a volunteer activity to pick up trash along the Han River with his wife, Kim Geon-hee, was scheduled to go to work at the Yongsan Presidential Office on the day of the holiday.
