Novak Djokovic (ATP 3) will play his 45th Grand Slam semi-final on Friday at Roland-Garros. The Serb dominated in the first quarter-final a catchy Karen Khachanov (ATP 11) 4-6 7-6 6-2 6-4 in 3h43.
The double winner of the tournament (2016 and 2021) conceded his first set in this fortnight. Powerless to raise, vulnerable on his own serve, he logically lost the first set once morest a very solid Karen Khachanov.
Novak Djokovic, however, was able to raise his level of play in the second set, especially in service at first. Karen Khachanov resisted well by not conceding his own face-off. The Serb, however, took advantage of his opponent’s first drop in speed to relaunch his actions. It occurred in the tie-break, where the Russian collapsed (7-0).
A half once morest Alcaraz
Unable to get the slightest break point in the first two sets, Novak Djokovic surfed this positive wave by taking the service of his opponent from the first game of the 3rd set.
His confidence restored, he then took the lead to finally win without shaking too much following 3:43. The Serb will face Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz (ATP 1).
