defending champion Novak Djokovic is in the quarterfinals of Wimbledon. His match once morest Hubert Hurkacz was canceled on Sunday evening due to the curfew – he won the sequel.

In the end, Djokovic won 7: 6 (6), 7: 6 (6), 5: 7 and 6: 4 and is once once more in the last eight of the All England Club.
Even if it wasn’t an easy win. Because once once more a match in Wimbledon might not be finished these days: At 11 p.m. local time “Curfew” is here in the SW19 district in London, so on Sunday evening following Djokovic’s 2-0 set lead there was a shift in the shaft for the first time. Or on the green.
Referee Gerry Armstrong stepped onto the court, Djokovic and Hurkacz already knew what was in store for them and packed their things right away. 20 minutes would probably not have been enough to end the game, so that the unanimous plea was for a direct termination.
Hurkacz misses many chances
Until then, Djokovic had kept his nerve once more, in contrast to his opponent. In a game that was also great for Hurkacz, who didn’t allow anything on his own serve, but had a lot in the crucial phases. In the tie-break of the first round he did not use three set balls, in the tie-break of the second set he carelessly gave up a lead with a mini-break with an unchallenged backhand error. And Djokovic also played the point following that from a good position right into the run. He fended off a set ball from the Djoker, but then he struck once more.

Hurkacz gets set 3, Djokovic the match
In the sequel, the Pole continued to play just as brilliantly as the day before, this time also managed the break and came close by winning the third set. In round four, however, Djokovic took the serve from him for the only time and won shortly followingwards. Next opponent is Andrey Rublev.
Djokovic has now been unbeaten in 32 games at Wimbledon and wants to win his eighth title at Church Road in the current edition. If he succeeds, he would draw level with record champion Roger Federer (which Federer even hopes for, as he explained a few days ago).
Djokovic would also have a total of 24 Grand Slam titles.
