Success in working life depends on many factors, including the family aspect and how the athlete’s life is shaped to achieve the goal that anyone is looking for.
That was the reality on which Ali Farag and Nour al-Tayeb’s relationship was built, which contributed to the success of each of them in squash in a way that satisfies his desire to excel.
Al-Tayeb, who returned to playing squash at the end of 2021 following a retirement that lasted for several months due to the circumstances of pregnancy, knew a gradation in excellence until she drew the lines of his success with the support of her husband, Ali Faraj.
Nour El Tayeb won the quarter-finals of the El Gouna International Squash Championship with being seeded 28 (May 2022) over 13th seed Tin Gillis of Belgium.
Al-Tayeb spoke regarding her husband following reaching the semi-finals of the El Gouna Squash Championship, saying: “I receive unlimited support from the family, and Ali stands by me in all situations, sometimes I am exhausted and Ali was the most supportive and believer in me.”
But Nour had a second incentive to insist on success as well: “I am more than tired of feeling the way I live, none of the players sleep a little or breastfeed, and of course her presence (her child) with me makes it easier today and makes me accept defeat more because I know following returning that I will I find her by my side, it is as tiring as it encourages me.”
Nour al-Tayeb’s return to squash is linked to a dream that she has been chasing for years and striving to achieve, which is to reach the top of the world rankings and achieve world championships.
Ali Farag, who is participating in the tournament, started the competitions while he was in second place in the classification and reached the semi-finals, coinciding with the rise of the world rankings for squash players at the beginning of June. He was also a model in supporting his wife who accompanied him to the same stage, and accompanied her to the matches stadium during the El Gouna championship.
Faraj talked regarding his wife, saying: “Noor makes a great effort all the time. I do not know how she continues this work all the time, between training in the gym, squash training, and her commitment to our daughter in addition to her family commitment. This is a very difficult thing, and I am proud of her.” .
Nour had talked regarding the same thing, and her personal ambition alongside her dream for her husband: “I do not want to keep number 14 (the June classification), and I also have to challenge a difficult player with a player the size of Paul Cole in order to maintain the first place, but I hope To maintain his position and to return to the first place in the classification as well.”
