South Carolina and Notre Dame meet at the Gator Bowl on Dec. 30 hoping to end their season on a high.
Both South Carolina and Notre Dame have stood out as underdogs this season, including the Gamecocks’ last two games as they played spoilsport in the College Football Playoff race once morest Tennessee and Clemson. For its part, Notre Dame also eliminated Clemson this season and faced teams like Ohio State and USC.
What should we expect with the Irish favorites on the Gamecocks? There are exclusions on both sides but it should be a very competitive effort, here are the odds and our best bet:

South Carolina vs. Notre Dame: Prediction and Picks
Notre Dame quarterback Drew Pyne was traded to Arizona State for much of the season. So we’ll see opening game starter Tyler Buchner return to center for the Irish. However, he will not have his main target, future tight end Michael Mayer. Additionally, the team is without top passer Isaiah Foskey, who has 12 sacks.
There are many more, but Foskey’s loss to an underperforming SEC offensive line like South Carolina’s will have an impact. However, the Gamecocks have lost all relevant tight ends on their depth chart this season and starting running back Marshawn Lloyd, who reached the transfer gate following running for nine touchdowns.
Additionally, there are other key contributors like offensive tackle Dylan Wonnum and cornerback Cam Smith, so there will be reserves on both sides.
However, Spencer Rattler hit another gear late in the season, leading the Gamecocks to a pair of 30-plus-point efforts once morest two top-10 teams in the nation. Notre Dame has struggled all season with an explosive pass defense, outside the top 90 this season, and Rattler and the Gamecocks offense have had big plays all season, 11th in explosive pass rate.
I will side with Beamer and the Gamecocks attack to keep pace with the Irish, who have struggled to take care of business this season as favourites.
