Notification case against state administrator Knut Storberget

– I would like to confirm that the ministry has informed me that they have received an anonymous report of concern which is being treated as a warning, says Storberget to VG.

VG writes that the case started at Storberget’s own office.

– We have received a report of concern relating to State Administrator Knut Storberget. This has been forwarded to the ministry for further follow-up, in accordance with our notification routines, says director Heidi Amundsen at the State Administrator in the Interior to the newspaper.

Storberget is trained as a lawyer and had a background as a defense lawyer. From October 2005 to November 2011, he was Minister of Justice in Jens Stoltenberg’s (Ap) second government. He was a parliamentary representative for Hedmark for 16 years.

In 2017, Storberget was appointed county governor in Hedmark and from 2019 county governor, later State Administrator, in Inlandet. In May this year, he was appointed by the government for six new years in office.

Storberget tells VG that he was informed about the case by the Ministry of Digitalization and Administration on Friday 27 September.

– I have been made aware of the fact that I have had a relationship with an employee in the office. And I can confirm that I have had such a relationship over several years, he says.

According to what Storberget tells VG, the relationship with the woman continued over a year after she left her job at the state administrator, but that it ended between them two months ago.

The Ministry of Digitalization and Administration confirms to VG that they have received an anonymous report of concern, which they are processing.
