“Nothing more frightening than a civil servant”, according to Richard Martineau

We can say that Richard Martineau did not tread water Wednesday at QUB radio. Have you ever heard him break sugar? Wednesday morning, however, this is what he did on the backs of officials. But not all civil servants, just those who are content to apply the rules without using their judgement!

The star host took as an example the application of a by-law of the Hochelaga-Maisonneuve borough in Montreal, which prohibits owners from parking their vehicle… in their parking lot!

In fact, it is an old regulation that dates back 50 years and is now strictly enforced. And that is scary, according to Martineau.

“The official has the right to life or death over you because the regulations say such a case, such a case,” he lamented.

With the price per square foot in Montreal, some owners have transformed their garage into an extra room. And that doesn’t seem to be allowed by the city. One thing is certain, the arguments of the municipality are far from convincing Richard Martineau.
