nothing before at least three years at Apple?

  • Apple’s iPhone with in-display camera won’t be released until 2026
  • Face ID should also end below the screen, for biometric unlocking
  • However, these are mere rumours, to be considered with caution.

Apple would already encounter some technical problems with the development of the front sensor under the screen, which should soon appear on iPhone. It is the analyst Ross Young who assures him, this one being followed closely by investors who believe, like Tim Cook, in the future success of the firm at the apple. Of course, it should be remembered that this is not official information, and that the researcher may very well be mistaken, as has already happened previously. According to him, however, it is rumored that the camera under the display will not arrive on iPhone before 2026 as soon as possible.

In theory, these are the iPhone 18 Pro who would be the first to be equipped with this solution. Impossible, however, to verify that the manufacturer will choose this nomenclature, since this model may not even be in the boxes yet. But if it sees the light of day, it could also not carry any dedicated charging socket, but be powered only wirelessly. Besides, we are still too far from a possible release date to make more guesses.

Not for all models

If the camera under the screen makes its arrival on iPhone in 2026, it should also be kept in mind that all models that will be released at that time will probably not be affected. Only premium editions, Pro et Pro Max therefore (even Ultra), are thus approached to be entitled to it.

For its part, Apple remains discreet on all the technical details concerning future smartphones. The company has indeed enjoyed cultivating secrecy about its future products for a long time. This is also its trademark and the same fate is reserved for iPads as well as Macs.

Face ID too

If the development of a camera under the screen is already proving to be a certain challenge for Apple, it is also because the group does not only have the FaceTime lens to hide under the slab. Recalling that at the top of the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro also sits the sensor TrueDepth. This works like a radar and scans the user’s face to recognize their features, then allowing biometric unlocking marketed under the name of Face ID.
