In an interview with RT during his participation in the “Atom Expo – 2024” project, Mohamed Dowidar, project manager of the Dabaa nuclear station, said that the Dabaa project, which is implemented by the Russian “Rosatom” is one of the strategic projects adopted by the Egyptian state through continuous support and supply of human resources necessary to implement it. The project.

Dowidar added that the project witnesses an exchange of experiences and close cooperation between Russian and Egyptian cadres, and between “Atomstroyexport” as the general contractor for the project and the Egyptian Nuclear Power Plants Authority as the owner of the project.

He pointed out that many Egyptian companies and workers participate in implementing the strategic project in its various stages, which enriches and reflects positively on the national human workforce participating in the project.

The official stressed that “the Dabaa project is a national and national project that does not aim to produce electricity or localize technology only, but aims to train and reach professionalism among Egyptian engineers and specialists and Russian engineers and specialists.”

The head of the Egyptian Nuclear Power Plants Authority, Amjad Al-Wakil, stated that the Egyptian nuclear program begins with the Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant project, pointing out that the implementation of the project is based on the planned timetable.

The Egyptian official recalled that on January 23, the project witnessed the event of pouring concrete for the fourth reactor with the participation of the presidents of Russia and Egypt. He expected that the reactor core outlet in the third nuclear unit and the reactor core outlet in the fourth unit would be installed during the current year.

He also indicated that it is planned that the first unit will enter into trial operation in September of 2028, and that the last unit will enter into trial operation in February of 2030.

The Egyptian official stressed that the Dabaa project is the nucleus of the Egyptian nuclear program for generating electrical energy, and opens the way for more establishment of nuclear plants in Egypt.

Regarding the “Atom Expo 2024” forum, the Chairman of the Egyptian Nuclear Power Plants Authority stressed the importance of the forum as it is a platform for exchanging opinions and experiences between countries and participants, stressing Egypt’s keenness to participate in the event periodically due to its importance and effective role in the nuclear industry.

The Dabaa station is the first nuclear power generation station in Egypt. The station is being built by Rosatom based on the best technologies and the highest safety and security standards. The project includes the construction of 4 Generation 3+ reactors with a total capacity of 4,800 megawatts. The first reactor is scheduled to be launched in 2028. .

Yesterday, Monday, in the Sirius Federal Territory of Sochi, southern Russia, the activities of the 13th International Forum “Atom Expo – 2024” began, and the activities of the event, held under the auspices of Rosatom, will continue until March 26.
