Not India or Chennai Super Kings, but Dhoni with a new team

Cricket South Africa has started a new franchise league in the footsteps of IPL. It is not enough to say just like IPL, a child IPL is all set to debut in South Africa. Because the owners of the IPL team also own the teams of the South African league.

The multiple times champions of the IPL, Chennai Super Kings, have also acquired a team in the South African league. Super Kings have already started preparations to continue their dominance on Indian soil in South Africa.

Now the indications are that the name of the team will be Johannesburg Super Kings. It remains to be seen whether CSK’s iconic yellow jersey will be the same as Johannesburg’s attire.

It is indicated that the management has decided to appoint Chennai coach Stephen Fleming as the coach. The team was headed by M.S. Dhoni may also be given a task.

The management believes that Dhoni’s experience, who has made Chennai Super Kings and the Indian national team champions many times, will help Johannesburg.

However, Insider Sport reports that BCCI’s approval is required for this. Perhaps if the BCCI is reluctant to this move, the management will have to look at other options.

The management has informed that the name of the team will be announced in the next few days. After announcing the name of the team, the management will also announce the supporting staff including coaches and mentors.

“All regarding the officials of the team will be clear within a week. We’re talking to Stephen Fleming. He is the most talented coach to ever lead CSK forward,’ a team official told Insider Sport.

‘We have M.S. They want to get Dhoni as a mentor. But it will depend on BCCI’s decision,’ he added.

Many of CSK’s old warhorses are likely to play for Johannesburg. Mr. IPL Suresh Raina is one of the key players who commands such potential.
