One of Europe’s most important gas suppliers is struggling with delivery problems. The LNG plant in Hammerfest, Norway, the largest natural gas liquefaction plant in Europe, had to shut down production due to a gas leak at the end of May. While the plant is now up and running once more, a number of other plants are idle for maintenance, including Shell’s Nyhamna plant, which processes offshore gas for pipeline transport.
