There are band names that are used so often that you would never think of using such a name for your own band. Nosferatu is such a name, which appears almost inflationary in all variations. In addition, this statement also applies to bands and projects of all musical shades.

This EP is an output of the Brazilian heavy metal band Nosferatu, which are still an insider tip in this country. The reason for this is the limited resources that bands from South America have at their disposal. The tight budget just doesn’t allow for the staying power to establish themselves internationally with Heavy Metal.

In bester New Wave Of British Heavy Metal Tradition

would have musically Nosferatu definitely deserves more room and attention. That’s why we can be happy that this successful EP with its three tracks is still out of the blue and is being released on vinyl in the traditional way.

After two demo tapes in the early 2000s, the Brazilians succeeded Returning To The Slaughter 2009 a hopeful debut album. A disc was presented in the best New Wave Of British Heavy Metal tradition. Unfortunately, these beguiling metallic tones hardly reached Germany in terms of sales. So it was up to the labels in Brazil, Bolivia and Malaysia to make the fans happy with this album.

Chains And Leather Are My Weapons

But once the European fans were lucky that in 2012 a split LP by Nosferatu along with Deathhammer appeared. Since the release, there has actually been radio silence. Nevertheless holds guitarist and singer Hussein Salim the name and the band still alive as lone fighters. The current EP contains old unreleased recordings from 2009 with its three songs.

The plain as Intro designated opener is an atmospheric two-minute instrumental, which deserves us to the following Heavy Metal shell Law Of The Streets prepared. Fast classic speed metal meets lush guitar melodies à la Iron Maiden. The song grabs you immediately and provides variety with its successful breaks. The production is successful and doesn’t sound so newfangled. The band understands that good heavy metal touches with passion and not through a gaudy over-bred production. The only weapon you need

The B-side of the single is in no way inferior to the first two tracks. Total Holocaust is also from 2009 and was made by Hussein Salim Remastered especially for the single in 2021. The three pieces form an acoustically homogeneous unit that it would really be a shame to keep in a drawer.

Also Total Holocaust is fed up with twin guitars and has catchy melodies. Fast guitars, a forward-riding rhythm section and built-in breaks make the track a five-minute must for the metal section. In terms of content, the single contains lyrics with typical metal clichés of blood, leather and rivets. But who wants to discuss it? It’s handmade music in the best New Wave Of Heavy Metal tradition.

Anger Of Metal we have it to thank that this piece of South American temperament still comes to our ears. The edition is limited to 500 copies exclusively in black vinyl. The single comes with an insert printed on both sides with lyrics and a small sticker. Metal collector’s heart what more do you want.

Conclusion
Nosferatu bring us up with the three tracks Law On The Street a nostalgic piece of South American underground into the house. Music and lyrics exude the 1980s charm of New Wave Of British Heavy Metal and belong on the turntable of every metal maniac! 8,5 / 10
