Oslo: The Norwegian Parliament has approved the resolution to declare Palestine as an independent state.

The ruling front presented the draft to overcome the resolution of the small parties to urgently recognize the state of Palestine. The draft proposal was passed by the parliament with an overwhelming majority.

The Assembly calls on the government to recognize Palestine as an independent state. This recognition will be beneficial to the peace process,’ the proposal said.

Iceland, Sudan, Poland, Czech Republic and Romania are some of the countries that have already recognized a Palestinian state.

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez told parliament that he would work to get his country and Europe to recognize Palestine. Sanchez returned to power on November 16.

Since October 7, thousands of Europeans have taken to the streets in support of Palestine. At the same time, Israel is given unwavering support in the countries of the US, Britain, Germany and France.

At the same time, French Prime Minister Emmanuel Macron’s statement that Israel should stop bombing Gaza angered Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu. Netanyahu’s response was that Macron was wrong and Western leaders should not give in to pressure for a ceasefire.
