Norway issues an international request to search for a person linked to the pagers that exploded in Lebanon

Oslo – Norwegian police reported yesterday, Thursday, that they had issued an international request to search for a Norwegian man of Indian origin linked to the sale of pager devices used by the Lebanese faction group that exploded last week.

Renson Fosse (39 years old) disappeared during a business trip to the United States last week. He is the founder of a Bulgarian company that is reportedly part of the pager supply chain.

“Yesterday, September 25, Oslo police received a report of a missing person in connection with the pager case,” Oslo police said in an email to Reuters.

She added, “The police opened a missing persons case, and we sent an international warrant (to search) for the person.”

The National Criminal Investigation Department (Kripos) in Norway, which is responsible for following up on international requests, confirmed to Reuters that the request had been sent without going into details.

A Kripos spokesman told Reuters earlier that in the event of a search for a missing person abroad, the administration usually issues an international alert, or what is known as a “yellow notice,” and it can also communicate directly with counterpart institutions in other countries according to the circumstances.

It was not possible to immediately obtain a comment from the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol).

Vosse declined to comment on the pager issue when contacted by phone on Wednesday, September 18, and ended the call when asked about the Bulgarian company. He did not respond to several attempts to contact him via phone calls and text messages.

Fosse’s Norwegian company, DN Media, said he left to attend a conference in Boston on September 17, and the company had not been able to reach him since September 18.

Fosse works in the company’s sales department.

According to the Bulgarian company registry, Vosse founded the company (Norta Global), headquartered in Sofia, in 2022.

Bulgaria is investigating the company’s role in supplying explosive pager devices, but has found no evidence that they were manufactured in or exported from the country.
