Northern Jutland may be affected by cloudbursts, hail and thunder – except in two municipalities

In addition to northeastern Jutland, the warning also applies to Zealand and Bornholm.

This is written by Denmark’s Meteorological Institute (DMI), which issued a so-called risk report on Tuesday evening.

According to Hans Wanner, who is the meteorologist on duty at DMI, the risk is greatest in North Jutland and the eastern part of the country. According to the forecast, the severe weather will hit North Jutland from 08:00 until 14:00.

– We currently have a cold front located a little way out in the North Sea, which will move across the country during the night and tomorrow morning, and to the eastern regions around noon, he says.

In connection with a cold front, there will be rain and thunderstorms, and according to the meteorologist, it seems that the system will be most active when it is in the eastern part of Denmark.

A risk message is not an actual warning of severe weather. But it is DMI’s way of drawing attention to the fact that the weather can develop violently.

Hans Wanner says that it is still uncertain exactly how the weather will affect Wednesday.

– Exactly how and how and how many thunderstorms will come, and so on, is very difficult to say. There is always great uncertainty associated with cold fronts like this one with showery precipitation, he says.

DMI writes in the forecast that the cold front is moving fairly quickly. This means that the rainfall will probably be relatively heavy, but short-lived.
