Geneva – The World Health Organization expressed its concern about the increasing violence against Palestinian civilians and the lack of access to northern Gaza, which is witnessing Israeli genocide for the 18th day in a row.

This came in a statement by the international organization’s media office, which sent a copy to Anatolia on Tuesday, regarding the latest situation in northern Gaza.

The organization renewed its call for the permanent facilitation of humanitarian aid missions, ensuring the security of humanitarian workers and a ceasefire.

“We are concerned about the increase in (Israeli) violence and the difficulty of reaching civilians in northern Gaza,” she said.

She indicated her deep concern about the safety of patients and health care workers due to forced displacement and the intense Israeli attacks that included the “Kamal Adwan,” “Indonesian,” and “Al Awda” hospitals in northern Gaza.

It is noteworthy that the three hospitals are the only ones remaining in northern Gaza and are partially functioning due to a lack of fuel, blood reserves, and medical supplies, in addition to the ongoing Israeli attacks.

In its statement, the international organization called for taking all possible measures to protect civilians and health care services, including patients, health care workers, hospitals and ambulances.

She stated that the increasing Israeli violence in northern Gaza prevents humanitarian aid missions from delivering food and medical supplies.

She said: “In the first half of October, only one of the 54 United Nations missions assigned to northern Gaza obtained permission to enter.”

According to the statement, the World Health Organization was able, after 9 attempts, to reach Kamal Adwan Hospital and Al-Sahaba Maternity Hospital on October 12 to deliver materials and fuel.

On October 6, the Israeli army began an unprecedented bombardment of the camp, the town of Jabalia, and large areas in the northern Gaza Strip governorate, before it invaded these areas under the pretext of “preventing the movement of Palestinian factions from regaining their strength,” while the Palestinians say that Israel wants to occupy the region and displace them.

While Israel imposes a siege on the northern Gaza governorate, preventing the entry of food, water, or aid supplies, the aid reaching the southern Gaza Strip areas is scarce and does not meet the needs of the displaced, most of whom have become poor.

Since October 7, 2023, with absolute American support, Israel has been committing genocide in Gaza that left more than 142,000 Palestinians dead and wounded, and more than 10,000 missing, amid massive destruction and famine that killed dozens of children and the elderly.

Tel Aviv continues its massacres, ignoring the UN Security Council resolution to end them immediately, and the orders of the International Court of Justice to take measures to prevent acts of genocide and improve the catastrophic humanitarian situation in Gaza.
