At the ceremony commemorating the 74th anniversary of the establishment of the regime in North Korea (September 9), a new attendant of Kim Jong-un, general secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea, was caught again, attracting attention.

According to North Korean media reports such as the Rodong Sinmun, the party’s official newspaper, on the 9th, a woman is performing the secretary general of Kim in close proximity at the ‘9/9 Festival’ celebration held at the foot of Mansudae on the afternoon of the 8th.

Wearing glasses and carrying a large black bag, this woman stood behind Secretary Kim and received a bouquet of flowers, keeping a certain distance, while continuing to take care of Secretary Kim’s every move.

This woman will also appear at the site of General Secretary Kim’s speech at the 7th session of the 14th Supreme People’s Assembly on the 8th and at the banquet held at the Mansudae Shrine. He assisted General Secretary Kim in all schedules related to this ‘9/9’ event.

Earlier, in the first half of this year, an unidentified woman was caught performing Kim’s secretary at close range, drawing attention. However, it has not yet been confirmed whether it is the same person as the woman who served as general secretary Kim at this ‘9/9’ event.

A new female attendant appeared in every public activity of General Secretary Kim, including the elementary party secretaries meeting in February, the completion ceremony of Songhwa Street in Pyongyang in April, the completion ceremony of Gyeongru-dong along the Potong River in Pyongyang, and the central report meeting on President Kim Il-sung’s birthday (April 15, Day of the Sun).

In particular, this woman did not wear the Kim Il-sung and Kim Jong-il portrait badges on her chest, so speculation has been raised that she may be Kim Seol-song, the half-sister of Kim Jong-un among the ‘Baekdu bloodline’. This is because the only people who have not worn a portrait badge at public events are General Secretary Kim and First Lady Ri Sol-ju.

However, while Kim Seol-song is known to be about 10 years older than General Secretary Kim, this female attendant looks considerably younger than that, and appears to be a different person. Kim’s new entourage, who appeared at the ‘9-9’ event, also wore a portrait badge.

It is also noteworthy that this attendant appears to be quite close to Kim Yeo-jung and Hyon Song-wol, the deputy chiefs of the party.

During the celebration, they sat near the back row of Secretary General Kim, and at a banquet held at the Mansudae Shrine, four of them sat at the same table with a middle-aged woman.

Since she has a particularly tense expression throughout the event and looks relatively young, it seems highly likely that this woman will be the new attendant following the deputy director Kim and the current deputy chief. However, she still seems to be in charge of the whole of her protocol.

However, it is expected that Kim’s entourage will continue to receive attention until his identity is confirmed just by his appearance, as it is considered a position entrusted only to an executive who is trusted enough to be called ‘the doorknob power’.
