North Korea shows its intention to relaunch its nuclear program

North Korean authorities have hinted at the possibility of retaking “all activities temporarily suspended”, in reference to its nuclear and long-range missile program.

This has been decided by the Workers’ Party of North Korea, which this Thursday held a meeting on the formulation of new policies, to which the North Korean leader, Kim Jong-un, has attended, collects the South Korean news agency Yonhap.

In this way, Kim might be proposing lifting the moratorium on nuclear tests and long-range missiles self-imposed by his own regime in 2018.

During this meeting, the participants have pointed out that they are going to launch preparations for a “long-term confrontation” with the United States, alluding to the fact that a series of “hostile policies and military threats” that “cannot be ignored”.

This meeting has been held in a context marked by the tension caused by the four missile launches that it has carried out Pyongyang so far this year and that have led to a series of sanctions imposed by the US authorities on North Korean citizens.

In fact, the United States has invited its international partners to adhere to these measures, even reaching the United Nations Security Council which, this Thursday, meets behind closed doors to discuss the matter.
