North Korea lied about the size of its latest missile

South Korea and USA they assured that North Korea fired a smaller-scale missile than it claims to have launched this week, according to southern military sources quoted by the Yonhap news agency.

The claim was made public a day following Analysts from several countries will certify several inconsistencies in the video and photos published by Pyongyang on Friday.

North Korea launched an intercontinental ballistic missile on Thursday. (ICBM) that flew 1,090 kilometers and reached more than 6,200 kilometers in height.

The next day he published a multitude of photos and a video assuring that what he launched was a Hwasong-17a new ICBM that it had first exhibited in 2020 but had not tested until now.

Saturday, the analyst of the specialized website NK News, Colin Zwirkowas the first to warn of the inconsistencies in the material, in which they seem to have been mixed images taken on Thursday and others captured on March 16when North Korea launched an ICBM from the same location but failed.

Zwirko has been followed many analysts who have highlighted these inconsistenciesranging from the position of the shadows on the ground or the aspect of the terrain from which the missile was launched.

On the same day of the launch, the agency Yonhap already cited South Korean military sources who considered that what was released on Thursday was probably a modified version of a Hwasong-15an ICBM with a shorter range than the Hwasong-17.

However, experts agree that latest North Korean launch sends clear message from Pyongyang. it is reluctant to engage in dialogue and is focused on strengthening its nuclear deterrent tools.
