North Korean leader Kim Jong-un‘s sister has warned Seoul that Pyongyang will cause a “horrible disaster” if South Korea sends drones again. “We will take strong retaliation regardless of the factors involved in drones carrying political propaganda from the Republic of Korea to infiltrate our territory,” Kim Yo-jong said in a statement carried by state news agency KCNA. Shortly before, Pyongyang had announced that “several South Korean devices” had recently flown over the North Korean capital. “We are not concerned about who is the main provocative force behind the recent drone incident,” added Kim, who is deputy director of North Korea’s Propaganda Department.
“The next time a North Korean drone is spotted in the sky above our capital it will surely unleash a terrible disaster,” he warned. According to reports from Pyongyang on Friday, Seoul has sent drones to the skies of the North at least three times in the last week. An action that represents “a serious violation” of his sovereignty. The KCNA agency underlined that the drones were carrying leaflets, suggesting that they were propaganda against the North Korean regime.
