[ソウル 22日 ロイター] – North Korea’s state-run Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) said on Wednesday that it had never supplied weapons or ammunition to Russia and had no plans to do so in the future, a defense ministry statement said.

“Recently, hostile forces, including the United States, have been talking regarding ‘violations of UN Security Council resolutions’ and spreading ‘rumors of arms deals’ between North Korea and Russia,” the statement said.

The White House said on Thursday that Russia may be seeking “millions” of artillery shells and rockets from North Korea. He said it was new evidence that Russia was running out of supplies due to the war in Ukraine.

In its statement, North Korea warned the United States to stop spreading such rumors, which it believed were “intended to tarnish (North Korea’s) image.”

Russia has also denied the purchase of weapons from North Korea and has demanded evidence from the United States.

Russia and North Korea have recently been discussing bilateral relations.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said in a letter to North Korean leader Kim Jong Un last month that he was open to “expanding comprehensive and constructive bilateral relations in common efforts between the two countries.” .

Kim also sent a letter to Putin saying that the two countries’ “strategic and tactical cooperation, support and solidarity” have since reached new levels as their joint efforts to defeat threats and provocations from opposing military forces. I told him I was there.
