The North Korean authorities approved a law in which the DPRK is proclaimed a nuclear state. This is reported by the South Korean news agency Renhap.

Under a new decree called “Policy on Nuclear Weapons”, the country’s armed forces can launch a preemptive nuclear strike against the enemy if Pyongyang considers the threat from him imminent. In addition, the DPRK, in accordance with the adopted law, will not distribute and transfer nuclear weapons and technologies to other states. The third paragraph on “command and control over nuclear weapons” states that the leader of the DPRK has the sole right to dispose of them and “makes all decisions regarding nuclear weapons.”
