The government has rehabilitated at least 60 health establishments in North Kivu in the space of ten months.

The coordinator of the Health System Development Program Management Unit, Dr. Dominique Bahabo, handed over the keys to some infrastructure to local authorities a few days ago.

This allocation is part of the Multi-Sectoral Nutrition and Health Program implemented with the aim of sustainably improving access to and the quality of care in this part of the country.

« With pleasure we give you these keys which represent all the health establishments under construction in the province, and we hope that they will be managed as a good father. On this occasion, we visit the various construction sites in progress. There are more than 60 health establishments which are undergoing major rehabilitation “, said Dr. Dominique Bahabo.

Receiving these keys, the provincial Minister of Health in North Kivu, Théophile Walulika thanked the government for these infrastructures which contribute to the materialization of the policy of free maternity, advocated by the Head of State.

« We are very happy because it will solve the problems of the care of mother and child couples, and you always know the objective of the Head of State is to protect the Congolese populations in health care. ” he stressed.

The rehabilitation work on these structures benefits from the financial support of the World Bank through the Multisectoral Nutrition Health Program project.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Dr Musole Mulamba Muva welcomed this gesture from the Government of the Republic:

« We have benefited from equipment for these same buildings and we say thank you to the government and for ensuring the functioning of the maternity ward in relation to the free maternity ward ».
