North Jutland’s top attraction has found a new manager

A new first lady has been found for North Jutland’s top attraction, the “North Sea Oceanarium” in Hirtshals. In addition to the large aquarium, she will also be the face of the “North Sea Research Park”.

It has just been announced in a press release that Hanne Kvist will be the site’s new director. And it creates satisfaction for the chairman of the board, Jørgen Christensen, that a unanimous board is behind the election.

– With the appointment of Hanne Kvist, we get a director who can continue the good development that both the Nordsøen Oceanarium and the Nordsøen Forskerpark are in. Both companies are in good shape and well prepared for the challenges of the future. We are now leaving that development to Hanne Kvist, who in interaction with Nordsøen’s committed employees and the boards will have the opportunity to go even further, says Jørgen Christensen in the aforementioned press release.

An active networker

According to the board, it is “an active networker” with a solid background in the fishing industry who has now been appointed as the new manager.

Hanne Kvist currently lives in Nørresundby, and she has been employed by Royal Greenland A/S since 2006. Today she holds a management position as “Director, Group Marketing & Digital. She has previously been employed for seven years in pharmaceutical and the medical industry.

Throughout her career, Hanne Kvist has dealt with business development, communication within research and development, sustainability as well as branding and marketing. Hanne Kvist joins Hirtshals on 1 August – and in the press release she says this regarding her new job:

– The North Sea Research Park and the North Sea Oceanarium are extremely well-run and important institutions within research and development and within communication and tourism respectively. It is therefore with great joy and humility that I look forward to becoming part of the house and, together with the experienced organization, to further develop the many exciting activities. I am also very much looking forward to collaborating with Forskerparken’s tenants and users, and the significant external network that shares the passion for delivering research and business development of a high international class for the benefit of the future of fishing, aquaculture and the many adjacent industries that live on and on the ocean.

The outgoing director Karl Henrik Laursen wanted to stop at the end of March. This means that chairman of the board Jørgen Christensen will handle the director duties until Hanne Kvist’s accession on 1 August.
