WEST FARGO — The head of the North Dakota union representing 11,500 public educators and staff will issue “report cards” on the voting records of local legislators later this month.

Nick Archuleta, president of North Dakota United, will speak at 6 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 23, at Traditions Restaurant and Bar in West Fargo.

The event is sponsored by North Dakota Democratic-NPL Districts 13 and 16 in West Fargo, according to a news release from Tom Seymour, chair of the Dem-NPL District 13.

North Dakota United tracked voting records on education issues in 2023, including expansion of school lunches, private school vouchers, book bans and penalties, tenure and due process, and the NDPERS pension fund.

The report cards are available

on the NDU website, reportcard.ndunited.org.

Seymour said teachers and parents in the West Fargo and Fargo school districts should learn the significance of the bills their legislators voted for and once morest.

Rep. Karla Rose Hanson, a Democrat serving District 44 in Fargo, will also be on the Oct. 23 program, which is free and open to the public.

Our newsroom occasionally reports stories under a byline of “staff.” Often, the “staff” byline is used when rewriting basic news briefs that originate from official sources, such as a city press release regarding a road closure, and which require little or no reporting. At times, this byline is used when a news story includes numerous authors or when the story is formed by aggregating previously reported news from various sources. If outside sources are used, it is noted within the story.
