KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The North Dakota State volleyball team earned its fourth straight sweep following topping Kansas City, 3-0, on Thursday night at Swinney Center.

Ali Hinze paced the Bison (15-7, 7-4 Summit) with a match-high 18 digs and match-best 17 kills. Kelley Johnson posted her fourth 50-assist performance of the season with a match-high 52 to go along with eight digs and two service aces. Taylor Quan also chipped in 16 digs on the defensive side.

The two teams battled through the opening frame that saw 16 tie scores and four lead changes. After Kansas City (16-6, 7-3 Summit) opened up a 23-18 edge, the Bison responded with five straight points to lock the frame, 23-23, following a kill from Alexis Boling. Both teams then exchanged points to find themselves locked, 35-35, following Sydney Henry delivered a kill. The Bison answered with back-to-back points following a kill from Lauren Jansen and an ace from Johnson to win the set, 37-35.

NDSU carried the momentum into the second set running out to 8-2 lead following a kill from Jansen. The Bison then increased their advantage to 14-5 following two straight kills from Hinze. NDSU, who posted a match-best .500 hitting percentage in the set, went on to win the second frame, 25-18.

Kansas City fought back in the third set grabbing a late 19-17 edge following an attack error. NDSU stormed back with five unanswered points to steal a 22-19 lead following a kill from Jansen. The Roos made one final surge with a 5-0 run of their own to regain the lead, 24-22, following an attack error. NDSU responded with four straight points, including one block and two kills from Hinze to capture the third set, 26-24, and the match, 3-0.

NDSU will be back in action at Omaha on Saturday. First serve is set for 12:00 p.m., at Baxter Arena.
