MONTERREY, NUEVO LEÓN.- After the tragedy that left 38 deceased migrants in a station Migration’s national institute (NMI) in Chihuahuathe federal deputy, Gerardo Fernandez Norona He urged to review the Mexican immigration policy and announced that he plans to propose to his faction the presentation of an initiative for the free transit of migrants in the country.
Fernández Noroña is visiting Monterrey to attend the celebration of the 50 years of foundation of the Tierra y Libertad colonybut he took time to attend to the media and expressed his position on this issue.

He added that “The fact that people die is terrible and burned, there can be no harder death.”

“We have to change immigration policy. Mexico has always been a country of asylum, an open country, personally I am going to discuss it with the faction, I am in the idea that we present an initiative to allow migrants free passage.”he added.
He specified that it would be a “transit visa” for migrants whose intention is not to remain in the country, which; however, it would generate guarantees in its path.

“The violence against them, the discrimination, the rapes. I’m talking about history, I’m not talking about our government.”he commented.
He also mentioned that he is not naive and that he knows that there is great pressure from the government of the USA on this issue, but said that the neighboring country to the north must leave its hypocritical politics like with drugs.
“The United States requires a workforce, anyone who comes to the United States finds a job”he added.
However, he explained that even though they need the migrant force, USA treat these people like criminals.
