The original voice actor of Nobita in the Doraemon cartoon series, Noriko Ohara, has reportedly passed away. Noriko died at the age of 88.

The news was received from the agency where she worked, 81 Produce, after Noriko failed to undergo treatment due to the illness she suffered from.

Doraemon cartoon is a popular cartoon in the world. Doraemon is a robot cat who comes from the future to help Nobita. Noriko has been voicing Nobita since 1970 until early 2000.

He is also popular in other anime films such as “Yatterman,” “Future Boy Conan” and “Heidi, Girl of the Alps,”. His hard work has resulted in a number of prestigious awards in Japan. Such as the Anime Grand Prix and Seiyu Awards.

“Working at Doraemon is like being an athlete, I have to maintain my stamina to stay fit,” Noriko recalled.

Noriko was born in Tokyo on October 2, 1935. She grew up with her parents who often read stories to her. Noriko also aspired to be a writer like Jo March, a fictional character in Louisa May Alcott’s novel Little Women.
