[21日 ロイター] – Russia on Thursday reiterated its demand for Sweden to share its findings on an explosion last September on the Nord Stream submarine pipeline that will send natural gas from Russia to Europe.
The UN Security Council will discuss the issue on Wednesday following Russia requested an independent inquiry into the blast.
Sweden and Denmark, whose blasts occurred within their exclusive economic zones (EEZs), have concluded that the pipeline was deliberately blown up, but have not said who did it.
The Russian embassy in Sweden told the messaging app Telegram: “Almost five months have passed since the sabotage of Nord Stream 1 and 2, but the Swedish authorities have remained silent, as if on cue. What are you so afraid of?” Are you there?” he posted.
Russia’s deputy ambassador to the United Nations, Polyansky, said a draft calling for an independent inquiry would be voted on this week.
China’s ambassador to the United Nations, Zhang Jun, told reporters that he supported the Russian draft, according to Russian state news agency TASS.
