Nordjyske experiences: Vendsyssel brings in former AaB keeper

Marcus Bundgaard plays his farewell match for Vendsyssel FF when the team visits Aalborg Portland Park on Sunday for a meeting with AaB.

The 22-year-old keeper signed a contract with Elfsborg earlier this week. Alongside the negotiations with Elfsborg, Vendsyssel FF has searched the market for a replacement for Marcus Bundgaard.

Here, the biggest challenge has been that only transfer-free goalkeepers are in play, because the Danish transfer window – unlike the Swedish one – has long since closed.

In the search for a replacement, Vendsyssel has also looked towards Sweden, where, according to Nordjyske’s information, a replacement for Marcus Bundgaard has been found.

Even though it is a Swedish keeper, it is indeed an old legend of North Jutland football. Specifically AaB.

It should thus be Oscar Linnér who will guard the cage for Vendsyssel FF in the remaining part of the spring. According to Nordjyske’s information, Oscar Linnér trained at Friday’s Vendsyssel training, and they should have since agreed on a contract that runs for the rest of the current season.

27-year-old Oscar Linnér had a short stay in AaB in autumn 2022, when he acted as backup to Theo Sander due to an injury to Josip Posavec. At the time, there was also talk of a short-term contract for the Swedish keeper, who in January 2023 switched to Brommapjkarna in his home country. Here he was under contract until the summer of 23, and since then he has been without a club.

However, that looks set to change in the near future. If all goes well, Oscar Linnér will make his debut for Vendsyssel FF in next week’s home game once morest Hobro IK.
