NONPOINT’s ELIAS SORIANO Blames Drummer ROBB RIVERA’s Medical Emergency On Coffee

Heavy metal drummer Robb Rivera, known for his powerful performances with the band nonpoint, experienced a frightening health scare during a concert in Louisville, Kentucky. His heart rate spiked dangerously high, forcing an immediate trip to the hospital. Thankfully, Rivera’s ordeal had a swift and positive resolution.

Just days later, Rivera addressed his fans from Greensboro, North Carolina, where Nonpoint was preparing for thier next show. “What’s up? robb here,” he greeted, his voice tinged with weariness despite the relief evident in his tone. “I want to thank everybody at the George hospital in Louisville that took care of me… It was a very stressful 24 hours — overwhelming and emotional, scary, and I never want to go through that again.”

Rivera revealed that the culprit behind his health scare was a combination of stress, fluctuating blood sugar levels, and dehydration. “They where able to bring it down within five seconds, which is crazy. Did a bunch of tests, everything was clear,” he shared.

He also addressed rumors circulating online, fueled by speculation about the cause of his incident. “To the people that said that this was due to drugs. Shame on you,” Rivera stated firmly. “If anybody knows me out there, [they know] that I do not use drugs at all or drink alcohol.”

Rivera’s fellow bandmate, vocalist Elias Soriano, shed further light on the incident in an interview with *outlander Media*. He explained that Rivera’s episode was a “perfect storm” of circumstances.

“Robb’s good. Robb’s 100%. He’s fine. It was a little spell. It was a perfect storm, a mix of a couple of different things,” Soriano said. “He normally doesn’t drink caffeinated coffee, and that day he had gone down to the local coffee shop and had a couple of cups of coffee that were not decaf, because they did not have decaf at the time.”

Soriano emphasized the importance of listening to one’s body, especially as we age.

“And than that mixed with just the stress, the stress of the show, and blood sugar. The doctor said he was low on magnesium and potassium, so he’s just gotta hydrate right, make sure he doesn’t drink caffeine before a show.”
