According to Turkish media reports, 98 percent of votes have been counted in the presidential election in Turkey.

According to the results of the presidential elections so far, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is leading with 49.34% of the votes, while his opponent Kemal Kilic Daroglu is second with 45.00% of the votes, while the third candidate, Sinan Oghan, has managed to get 5.23% of the votes so far. .

More than 50 percent of the votes are required to become the president, if more than 50 percent of the votes are not received, the decision will be made in the second phase of the elections on May 28.

Apart from this, 98% of the votes have been counted in the parliamentary elections and according to the results so far, President Erdogan’s Justice and Development Party has won 266 seats in the House of 600.

It should be noted that the voting process for presidential and parliamentary elections in Turkey continued from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm local time.

According to the foreign news agency, for the first time in the history of Turkey, 24 parties and 151 independent candidates are participating in the elections, more than 6.5 million voters are registered in Turkey.

In the presidential election, there has been a tough competition between Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan and opposition leader Kemal Kilic Daroglu.

If more than 50 percent of the votes are not received in the presidential elections, the second phase of the elections will be held on May 28.
