The Election Commission rejected the nomination papers of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founder and former Prime Minister Imran Khan as well as senior PTI leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi. The nomination papers of Tehreek-e-Insaf founder Imran Khan from National Assembly Constituency NA-122 from Lahore were rejected.
On Saturday, the returning officer Muhammad Iqbal announced the decision to reject the nomination papers of founder Tehreek-e-Insaf. The nomination papers of Bani PTI were rejected on two grounds, the first being that the supporter of Bani PTI was not a registered voter of NA-122 constituency.
Apart from this, due to the conviction of the founder of PTI, his papers were also rejected. The papers of founder PTI Imran Khan were challenged by Muslim League (N) candidate Mian Naseer.
Tehreek-e-Insaaf’s lawyer said that the founders would file an appeal in the tribunal against the rejection of PTI’s nomination papers as we had already expressed no confidence in the returning officer of NA-122.
He said that the returning officer’s own inquiry is going on and there are allegations of corruption against him.
On the other hand, the nomination papers of Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi from National Assembly Constituency NA-151 from Multan and National Assembly Constituency NA-214 from Tharparkar were rejected.
The Returning Officer also rejected the nomination papers of Zain Qureshi and Meher Bano Qureshi from NA-151.
Not only this, but the nomination papers of Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Zain Qureshi from NA-214 of Tharparkar were rejected.
Returning Officer Asif Ali Khaskheli said that the nominations of both the candidates will be rejected due to lack of certificates.
PTI leaders have decided to challenge the decision to reject nomination papers from Tharparkar.
Apart from this, the nomination papers of PTI leader and former Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri were also rejected.
The papers of Qasim Suri, who submitted nomination papers from National Assembly Constituency NA-263 from Quetta, were rejected.
The Returning Officer took the stand that Qasim Suri is insolvent, and ad hoc and the detailed decision will be given to Qasim Suri’s lawyers.
It should be noted that apart from this, the nomination papers of several PTI leaders have been rejected.
Earlier, Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Ali Muhammad Khan claimed that his nomination papers for NA-23 from his native Mardan were rejected without any legal and proper reason.
Ali Muhammad Khan said that he will appeal against this illegal and wrong decision in the High Court Election Tribunal, I hope that justice will be done.
Apart from this, the nomination papers of PTI leader Zulfi Bukhari from NA-50 constituency of Attock were rejected.
