A Nokia announced this week the creation of Nokia Federal Solutions, a new division of the company that will work in collaboration with the United States to provide essential technologies and services to various federal government agencies.
According to Nokia’s official statement, NFS will provide solutions that meet the unique requirements of US federal agencies, including IP routing, optical networks, microwave, 5G, private wireless networks and tactical private wireless networks.
The company also highlighted that it sought to bring together a team of professionals experienced in commercial communications technology and with a deep understanding of the unique requirements demanded by the US government.
The executive Mike Loomis was named president of Nokia Federal Solutions and said in the release that this new dedicated division was founded to provide local presence, technology and expertise, and that NFS is an investment in the US partnership.
In turn, Tommi Uitto, President of Mobile Networks at Nokia, stated that this step is important for the company’s future in the defense business. The company seeks to grow in this segment and become a reference in providing these types of services.
“We look forward to seeing our 100% reliable, high-performance communications solutions support the US government and US federal agencies to help them achieve their goals,” said the Nokia executive.
