The partnership between Nokia and HMD Global gives birth to three new smartphones. On the one hand, the Nokia C2 2nd Edition, a phone that goes once morest market trends in 2022. The Nokia C21 and C21 Plus are slightly better equipped, but remain inexpensive entry-level.
The partnership between Nokia and HMD Global continues to produce lot of cheap and rather minimalist smartphones. Let’s start with the Nokia C2 2nd Edition which is a sequel to the Nokia C2 released in 2020. This is a phone without a doubt compact in view of the standards of 2022, since its screen diagonal measures 5.7 inches with an aspect ratio of 18:9. It is an IPS LCD panel with a very low definition of 480×960 pixels. The phone weighs 180 grams all the same and has a glass coating on the front, while its back and frame are made of plastic. The battery is only 2500 mAh with 5 W charging, but given the screen here, it should last two days without problems.
You will certainly have already understood that this is an entry-level model, and who says entry-level says modest performance. The Nokia C2 2nd Edition will not be a thunderbolt. It embeds a Unisoc SoC (quad cores 1.5 GHz), 1 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage. A 2 GB RAM version is also available. Both have a place for microSD cards if you find yourself cramped.
Don’t expect to delight your followers on Instagram with this phone. Its front camera displays 5 megapixels and its single rear sensor offers 8 megapixels. On the other hand, we appreciate the support for facial recognition and the presence of a fingerprint sensor. For the OS, it will be necessary to rely on Android 11 Go Edition.
Nokia C21 and C21 Plus
In addition to its new C2, Nokia presented at the MWC 2022 the Nokia C21 and C21 Plus. They should both trade below the 100 pounds mark (regarding 120 euros with a simple conversion). In terms of design, the two smartphones display an honorable quality of materials for their price range. Both have an aluminum frame, and the C21 Plus even has an IP52 waterproof and dustproof rating.
Both smartphones have 6.5-inch HD+ panels (20:9 ratio) in LCD. Here are the specs of both phones.
