The Finnish brand is launching an ambitious new subscription service. It accompanies this launch of three new smartphones, including the Nokia G60 and X30.
Many of you no doubt have a subscription with a service the SVoD. After the Netflix or Amazon Prime subscription, imagine a world where you would subscribe to a brand to be able to use your smartphone? This is the rather original idea proposed by Nokia and it is called Circular. For the occasion, the brand unveils three new smartphones and a tablet brought to join this service.
After a sweltering summer, climate concerns are more than ever at the heart of the news. Nokia intends to anchor Circular in an ecological approach. If the Finnish firm has not yet specified the exact contours of the service, remember that with an addition of between 12 euros per month or 30 euros per month, you will be able to enjoy a phone from the brand of a quality more or less depending on the price paid.
Leasing with points system
Nokia specifies that it is indeed a leasing, a lease with optional purchase, but the idea behind it is a bit different. Because with Circular, the longer you keep the phone, the more points you will earn called seeds (seeds in English). If we quite logically expect a reduction in exchange for these points, Nokia talks more regarding the possibility of exchanging these seeds once morest an investment in the field of ecology. Again, this will have to be clarified along the way.
Of course, Nokia doesn’t just charge you for a phone in instalments. Because the day you decide to exchange your smartphone for a more recent model, you have the assurance that it will be reused effectively. Either it will be recycled by a Nokia partner or it will be donated to ‘charity’, that’s all. “Many brands offer a program that aims to buy back their phones from users. But then, it is resold on the market. There, we guarantee its recycling or donation »says Adam Ferguson, global head of proposition, partner and product marketing at HMD Global.
To accompany the launch of this service, which will begin first in Germany and the United Kingdom, Nokia is directly integrating three new models into this service, with the most expensive to the least expensive, the Nokia X30, G60 and C31. It will of course always be possible to buy them in stores.
Thanks to a partnership with Ecologi, the purchase of a Nokia X30 allows the planting of a tree, explains the brand. Remember that this practice only aims to compensate for the ecological impact of a company’s activity and not to reduce its footprint.
