The former Oasis singer was unable to perform Saturday (July 8, 23) night at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center (SPAC). The site was abruptly evacuated following a bomb threat.
According to multiple sources, rock bands Metric and Garbage were able to finish their shows, but the night ended before Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds had a chance to perform. An announcement at 10 p.m. said the show would not resume due to “circumstances beyond our control,” the Albany Times-Union reports.
The journalist who attended the concert wrote: “The stage was set for Noel Gallagher. Then a guy came on stage and said, ‘Due to circumstances beyond our control, the concert will not continue.
Garbage tweeted following the event: “We have no idea what happened tonight. We have just been evacuated and we were worried for everyone!!! I’m sorry, we don’t have any other information. We were just told there was an emergency evacuation!!!! »
Later, authorities confirmed that the hall had closed due to a “bomb threat”. “Out of an abundance of caution, the concert at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center was suspended at 9:40 p.m. and concertgoers were evacuated without incident. The K9s conducted a sweep of the venue following the crowd exited, with negative results,” reads a statement from New York State Park Police.
The singer of Wonder wall is currently on tour to promote his band’s new album, Council Skies, which peaked at number two on the Official UK Albums Chart in June.
