In the future, more households will have to pay slightly lower ORF fees.

Broadcasting fees are not only being tinkered with in Austria. “From January, television fees will no longer be linked to the electricity bill,” headlined Italian newspapers last year. In the background, there were apparently EU requirements, according to which inappropriate charges must be removed from electricity bills. The changeover planned for this year turned out to be much more complicated than expected and was postponed. For this reason, the RAI fee of a cheap 90 euros per year will be paid directly with the electricity bill in Italy until further notice.
