No women’s jumping at the combination in Ramsau due to wind

2023-12-15 10:13:50

The two days of competition at the Nordic Combined World Cup in Ramsau am Dachstein began on Friday morning with a cancellation. The women’s jumping round for the Gundersen competition was not carried out due to too much and gusty wind; the provisional ranking round completed the day before will be counted. The 5 km cross-country skiing in this competition is scheduled for 3 p.m., before that the men start the mass start with the cross-country skiing at 1:45 p.m.

The Austrians had not achieved a good starting position in jumping on Thursday. Lisa Hirner, who came second in Ramsau last year, goes into the cross-country ski trail in eleventh place, 1:08 minutes behind Norwegian Gyda Westvold Hansen, who is once once more in the lead. Annalena Slamik (19th/+2:06) and Claudia Purker (20th/+2:37) are well behind. The young ÖSV athletes Laura Pletz (27th/+4:29) and Clara Mentil (28th/+4:38) will start at the end of the field. Anja Rathgeb missed the jumping due to a lack of material and was not allowed to compete.

If the men’s jumping scheduled for Friday at 5 p.m. cannot take place, the provisional scoring round from Thursday would not be used. This only applies to the compact competition on Saturday. In the event of cancellation, the jury might reschedule the jump for the mass start decision for Saturday.
